Why screenings matter
Every community screening of InhuMAINE is free to attend and paired with local resources and honest conversation. Audiences leave with something rarer than information: familiarity. Stigma survives on distance, and a shared room closes it. Hosts tell us the conversations continue for weeks — in classrooms, town offices, and around kitchen tables.
Why volunteers matter
We are a small, project-based nonprofit — volunteers are how the work scales. Helpers greet audiences at screenings, set up venues, share resources at community events, and lend skills from design to outreach. No experience is required, and people in recovery are especially welcome: lived experience is expertise here.
Why donations matter
Gifts to Common Ground Friends fund free community screenings, keep our documentary work moving, and support grassroots projects across Maine. As a registered 501(c)(3), every donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law — and every dollar stays with the mission.
